  • It IS possible to stay at a Deluxe resort for cheap: the trick is in working for it. Don't be afraid to talk to the CM on the phone and let them know what you want. When they closed the CBR last September, we were able to get a room at the Polynesian for only $9 more per night. Totally worth the extra 15 minutes we waited on the phone! Submitted by Kimberly M.

  • Don't spend money renting a fridge. We bought a portable, folding cooler at Wal-mart for under $20.00 and stuffed it in our luggage. When we arrived a the resort, we opened it and every day added ice to keep what we had in it cool. We were able to put juice and other breakfast items it and had a quick snack at our finger-tips. Also stop at a store before getting to the resort, you can buy items much cheaper. Submitted by Jeff

  • We have stayed on property and off many times and our favorite resort is still Fort Wilderness. The campfires, hayrides and sing alongs make this truly Disney for both my children and my husband and I. If you are like us and don't own a RV, opt for Wilderness Lodge accomodations and commute via water taxi to Fort Wilderness. It is so much more enjoyable than a bus!!!! Submitted by Chasity

  • For those in the Military or DOD civillian employees, check out the Shades of Green Resort on the WDW property. You get discounted rates and all of the privileges of staying at a WDW property. Also if you plan to go before the fall of 2003 you can stay at the Contemporary Resort for the same $$ since they are refurbing SOG and moving all of their reservations thereSubmitted by: Brian Gran

  • When choosing where to stay at when you are going to stay at a disney resort I would choose the disney's Wilderness Lodge. Inside of this huge place the scenery and themeing is so amazing, and it is so huge. Outside of the lodge there is a swimming pool that this creek runs into. The pool also has a really cool water slide as well. So if you go to disney I would recommend it because it is my favorite. Submitted by Jeremy Kent

  • If you stay at Dixie Landings (soon to be merged with Port Orleans) or Port Orleans you can take a boat ride from your resort to Downtown Disney Marketplace or West Side. It's especially nice if you do it after dark with your special someone! Very Romantic! It's even better on a chilly night.Submitted by: Candi Friedhof

  • Want to do something "special" for a member of your group? (like for a birthday or anniversary) Drop down or call Guest Services and ask. Usually they will come up with something creative in your room during your stay (I had a birthday card signed by Tinkerbell sent to the room and also had Goofy call and sing Happy Birthday to her). • Go to the 15th floor observation deck of the Contemporary and watch the fireworks at the MK side. When they are over go to the lakeside observation deck and watch the water pageant go by. (times vary) There is also an excellent view of the fireworks from the 4th floor (Concourse level) observation deck of the hotel and also from the Polynesian beach. Submitted by Jim Miller

  • A real treat for the young or young at heart... Ask for a wake up call when staying at any Disney Resort. Mickey will call & wake you up the next morning! It's a great way to start your Disney Day. (Hint, I always set the alarm clock in the room for 5 minutes before the wake up call comes in. That way I'm fully awake when Mickey calls, hee hee!) Submitted by Candi Friedhof

  • If you go to the California Grill at the Contemporary to watch the fireworks, when you get off the elevator turn LEFT. There is a balcony past the restrooms that usually is MUCH less crowded. A few times a year one or the other balconies are closed for private parties, but you can use the other and not miss the fireworks. Submitted by: Beth and Louis
