The parks are huge and it is very hot in Florida. You will get extremely thirsty! Most counter service restaurants will give you ice water any time! Bring some of the Crystal Light individual bottle packs and you can make your own drink! Wal Mart has their own brand of these even cheaper! They are small and can fit in a pocket or anywhere! So much better for you thank soft drinks!.Submitted by Joyce
On our trip to Disney World to remember our parking spaces, I used our digital camera and took a picture of the parking aisle character sign and another picture with either the numbers on the lot or the kids holding up their fingers showing our spot number. I could review the pictures later in the evening to find our car.Submitted by Mandy Van Cleave
I am 14 and have been to Disney world over 10 times I have figured out that you should bring a fanny pack with you so that when your on rides you don't worry that your purse maybe be falling out ( on the tower of terror)or somthing like that.YOu should watch the fireworks while walking towards the next ride you want to go on. You still enjoy the fireworks this way and you will also enjoy that there isn't a long line for the ride your walking to.The fireworks are every night so take time to enjoy the rides. Fireworks come every fourth of July... Disney World can only sometimes come once! Enjoy the magic!Submitted by Angie
I was just recently at Disney World about a week ago and i've been there many times and know ALL the secrets and tips! For one thing, at MGM Studios the who wants to be a millionaire is very popular..it's almost always diffcult to get in! I was in the hot seat and i barely made it in that time so i was really lucky! If you visit Epcot really early, grab a fatass for test track, then go on test track then hed over to Ellens Energy Adventure and go on test track again..i've done this many times and it works! Also, when going to Magic Kingdom, space splash and thunder mountain is very hard to get on, always grab a fastpass for your favorite then get in line for one of them! At Animal Kingdom make sure you see the lion king show! Grab a fastpass for Dinosaur, and then see the show and then ride Dinosaur! I hope my tips help because they've helped me before!Submitted by Kayla
If you go at Thanksgiving, go to the Kali River Rapids ride at Animal Kingdom first. My son & his grandmother were able to stay on it 10 times before they had to get off. My wife & I got off after 5 times. You will be soaked so make sure you bring towels & dry clothes in zip lock bags. You can put them in the middle 'dry' area. When you finally had enought, you can dry off in the rest rooms & change into dry clothes. The Montreuil's, Olathe, KSSubmitted by Marcel Montreuil
If you will be at the Magic Kingdom for more than one day do this tip:
The first day, watch the Parade, the next day skip it. Head off the either of the 3 mountains or other LONG line waits. Do as many rides as you can. I have always done this, and everyone is watching the parade.
IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO DO THIS TIP, DO THIS ONE TOO: Don't head to the Main Parade sight if you are planning to skip it. Before the parade, I suggest you hot-foot yourself over the Frontierland, Adventureland or Tommrowland.
P.S. Try heading over to Mickey's Toon Town Fair. ONCE, we had the houses to our ourselves!Submitted by Anna
The best advice I ever received to avoid crowds: When entering MGM, Epcot and Magic Kingdom immediately head for the back of the park. Skip all the shops and attractions in the front and work your way forward. At Animal Kingdom, go immediately (do not pass go, do not collect $200!) to the Safari Ride (on the left side of the park) early in the day to see the animals at their most active. Many people do this (so follow them) but then lots of people are strolling, taking in the sights and being distracted by street performers. You can do this after!Submitted by Maureen
Early in the day at MGM-Studios, you can really beat the lines on two of the best rides in there - Rock N' Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror. Grab a fastpass for Rock N' Rolercoaster, then walk back and do the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror; the wait should be about 5 - 10 minutes. After you get off, you can go through the regular line of Rock N' Rollercoaster, then retake the trip to Tower of Terror and do it again. Now, your fastpass should be in its timeframe, and the noraml line filling up, so you can use it for Rock N' Rollercoaster. This is a geat way to get some short waits and two rides apiece on the two best rides in the Park.Submitted by Mike Tartaglia
you know when your first trip to WDW you have to do all the planning and sometimes you get mad just trust me,you'll never see everything in 1 day it doesnt matter how hard you try sometimes you just need to take a break and have fun cause remember YOUR ON VACATION!!!!!!!!Submitted by MIGUEL THE MAN
If you go to MGM Studios make sure that you do not miss their nighttime show of music, lasers, fireworks, imagination, and Mickey Mouse; Fantasmic. To see Fantasmic make sure you get there at least an hour and a half just to get seats. Even though this is a 6,500-seat ampatheater it is the best and most popular show at Walt Disney World and fills up very quickly. If you go to the early show you can get hot dogs, pretzels, and popcorn for your dinner in the ampatheater instead of eating at around 4 pm. My opinion would be for you to go to the later show (if there are two showings of Fantasmic) so that you can enjoy the park longer, because the show itself does not start until all of the attractions are closed. This a 25 minute show and is worth the hour and a half wait.Submitted by Jennifer Fischler
If you really like Epcot and Test Track, the best time to go is right when the park opens or early in the morning because you get right on test track and all the rest of the rides. ( Besides World Showcase) That is the best time to go to epcot because everybody else is at Animal Kingdom or MGM Studios.Submitted by Jeremy Kent
For great character pictures in Animal Kingdom, go to the character area in Camp Minnie/Mickey when the Lion King Show is starting. There are absolutely no lines for the characters. On our last trip, several even walked up to us to take pictures. And you can also get a picture with Mickey & Minnie together in safari outfits!Submitted by Joe
To get the most fun out of your trip if you are going is to go to MGM Studios. It is the best park out of the 4 parks. The Tower of Terror is soooo sweet. I went on it more than 20 times in one day. I also went on the best coaster ever, the rockin roller coaster featuring aerosmith about 8 times. I did this all in the morning when the park opened. So get there early you only have to wait 5 minutes to 0 minutes waiting in line for either rides.Submitted by Jer
The best time to ride rides is during parades and fireworks or early in the morning. The crowds are always light at those times.Submitted by Nate B.
When planning on a trip to WDW, it is a good idea to purchase a book describing all the rides and resorts so that when you have arrived you can have an idea of the parks or rides you want to visit first. WDW is a very big place and has so many great things to do you don't know where to start. Having a general idea of the things you want to see first is always a good tip and you can manage time to see more and do more. Submitted by Leslie
If you want to have the best experience at the Magic Kingdom, then it would be wise to tour the park on a Wednesday in late January. That way, you'd be able to experience a lot of the main rides with a very short waiting period. I did this technique, and I was able to make go on all three mountains within a two-hour time period. I WAS A DISNEY CAST MEMBER FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS AND KNOW ALL THE PARKS VERY WELL. IF YOU ARE VISITING EPCOT AND ARE ARRIVING AT 9:00 A.M. WHEN THE PARK OPENS, I SUGGEST YOU HEAD TO TEST TRACK FIRST. THIS RIDE HAS A FAST PASS, HOWEVER IF YOU GO FIRST THING THEIR IS NO WAIT. ALSO, WHEN I WAS LAST THERE THEY HAD A SINGLES LINE WHICH I USED ALL THE TIME. IF YOU DON'T MIND HAVING YOUR PARTY SPLIT ON THE RIDE THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO AVOID A LONG WAIT. I NEVER WAITED MORE THAN 10 MINUTES IN THIS LINE. JEFFREY, PHOENIX ARIZONA.Submitted by Jeffrey Williams
Fantasmic, If you want to go and see this it is very important to get in line for it at leats one hour to one and half hours before it starts or you might not beable to get in, as a former Disney employee at MGM trust me... Submitted by John
If you like to ride the big rides over and over again, try Big Thunder Mountain about an hour before closing. It does not have the huge lines caused by FastPass in the evening and you can usually take quite a few rides in a short period of time. Submitted by Daniel
For a great photograph of Spaceship Earth at Epcot, ride the monorail from the Transportation Center to Epcot. You can get a photograph as the monorail turns to face Spaceship Earth and then again after the monorail circles around you can get more photos from the opposite side. If you have a party of 4 or less ask to ride up front with the driver. Don't forget to ask for your co-pilot license when you are done. Submitted by Steve Simmons
Always go to the left except for Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror. People are creatures of habit and always go to the right except for these 2. After many rides I have noticed that the right line moves quicker on these 2 rides. Submitted by Jim Miller
Going to Epcot and want to avoid parking charges. Park at the Boardwalk if you already have your pass and enter the park between England and France at the International Gateway. Submitted by Jim Miller
One tip I would have for people going to disney World for first time would be to spend a lot of time at the MGM Studios because it has the best rides and the coolest shows for the people that like those different things. So if two people wanted to see the Beauty and the Beast show and two others wanted to ride on the Rockin' Rollercoaster then they could because they are all in one park and those are the best things to see and to do. Submitted by Chelsea
At Kali River Rapids You Will Get Wet! To safe guard your belongings bring along a plastic bag. (If you have shopped at all-and who doesn't?-you'll have plenty of bags from your treasures to use.) We brought bags folded in our fanny packs and put the fanny packs and cameras in the plastic bags just before we got on. They went into the 'dry' area in the raft and everything stayed dry! If you are a Disney resort guest with length of stay or hopper passes, take advantage of early admission to the designated park of the day. Later in the morning, leave that park and hit one of the others as early admission parks get VERY crowded, while the other parks are less crowded. If you're a day visitor only, avoid the parks that day with early admission. Crowds are much smaller at the other parks. Submitted by Barb
Get your seats for "fantasmic" 1 hour early or you wont get a seat. Submitted by Lauren Donovan
When I'm in the Magic Kingdom, I like to experience it the way Walt wanted. Like it was a completely different world. So, when I leave I like to be especially wonderful. Right before the fireworks begin, the ferry always has a boat that leaves. If you get on that ferry, you can experience the fireworks as the boat pulls away. You see the castle getting smaller and smaller with the fireworks surrounding it. It's a great feeling. All I ask is that you don't stand on the left side of the boat on the end. That's my spot. Submitted by Rebecca Hatzakorzian
I just came back from Disney last week. Use the FastPass, it works. I spent no more than 10 minutes in line at the major rides. Go to the ride you want to ride first thing, get your fast pass, come back when it tells you to and you will have no wait. Submitted By: Todd Carlson
Avoid attending theme parks on their early opening days.... too crowded.. If you do, arrive 1 1/2 hours before the scheduled opening time but use your hopper pass and hop to another theme park at like 10ish when the other general public is allowed in. Magic Kingdom - Monday & Thursday & Saturday Epcot - Tuesday & Friday MGM - Wednesday & Sunday Submitted by Mike Janosco
The Spaceship Earth is a great ride; however, it seems to be instinct of all those entering Epcot each morning to get into that line. DON'T. Wait until about 2 or 3 in the afternoon. We can usually walk right up and go in...no wait. Also, if your stay is for more than one day at each park...Be sure to see the great parades..ONCE. Then when people start lining the streets to see the parade(s) on your other days, you go ride those rides where you had to wait in the longest lines. The Fast Passes have helped with some of the busiest rides, but there are still waits at popular rides. Take advantage of the parade time. Submitted by Jan Engle
When in the magic kingdom and there are two performances of the light parade try and see the second one. While the first one is going on try to go on some of the bigger rides (example Splash Mountain) the line is usally much shorter then during the day. Then go see the 2nd show usally it is not as crowed then the first one so you should be able to get a good view of the parade. Submitted by Marie Losavio
At Disney's Animal Kingdom, in the Maharajah Jungle Trek, go see the tigers at 5:30 because that's the time right before they eat and they will be more active. Submitted by: Jack Saraceno
Go see Fantasmic. The show is great! It is a must see. Make sure you get there right when they start letting people in. This is good because you are guaranteed to get a good seat and you won't miss the happenings before the show starts. I was there this past summer and there was a cast member, Ryan, who I will never forget. He made my trip with his zainy way of selling merchandise and kept my little daughter laughing until the show started.Submitted by: Mark Redstone
