  • I never go in to any theme park without a sample size bottle of shampoo and a hand towel because I have had misfortune to be pooped on by birds flying over head. Seems funny now but it was disgusting at the time. You can ask a cast member of WDW to direct you to a place where you can quickly wash your hair without having to go all the way back to your hotel. Submitted by Cynthia L.

  • If you are renting a car and staying on property, I would on the way to the resort stop and buy soda and bottled water, and maybe some snack food. Usually there is refrigerator in at least the moderate hotels and you can take a bottle of water with you to the park in a backpack. Trust me you will need it, and since 1 bottle of water costs $2 at the parks, you will save lots of money also. Submitted by Sara

  • When you first get to a park a lot of people go round the same way. At Magic Kingdom people go round to where rides like Big Thunder Mountain are etc. When you get there try going to places like Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger first. Me and my family managed to get on Buzz Lightyear twice each time barely queuing. Submitted by Jo

  • My family have been twice to WDW. What we found was the best thing to do was to spend only every other day in a park. This is best if you are staying somewhere not in Disney. Every other day you go to the parks and the other days you take time to relax. Some days we went shopping (I'm English so I'd never been to a WalMart) and we went to the waterparks to relax. Our fave was River Country but for some reason last time we went (August 2002) it was closed. Sometimes in the evening we went to Disney anyway just to do a couple of things, but this worked because it was the evening and it was cooler so we didn't get so tired. Doing this meant we were always ready for the next day to trek around the parks properly Submitted by Jo

  • If you plan to go to WDW's MK (with or without kids) this tip will help. On your first day at the MK, watch the 3:00 parade. Day 2, skip it! The parade is great, but to me once is enough. With your time, head for the Mountains, Dumbo, Alein Encounter or even Winnie the Pooh. Submitted by: Anna

  • I'm 13 years old and I just recently stayed at the Polynesian Resort (with lagoon view! worth the money!) and found out about Captian Cooks souviner mug. You pay $10 for a cute medium sized mug and during your stay there, you can refill you mug any time, for free! Also, at Sci Fi Cafe at MGM, if they have it, buy the souvenir mug filled with cherry Sprite and a light up ice cube. it's $5.99 but the cup is cool and the ice cube is awesome!!!! you tap on side and u can light it up or turn it off!!!! so cool!!!! • Don't waste a lot of time shopping at the parks. When at WDW I buy a souvenir pin at each park I visit and then set aside some time to shop at the World of Disney store at Downtown Disney. It has just about everything, plus sale items and if you join the Disney Club you get 10% off your entire purchase! You save valuable time that you can use riding rides and seeing shows and still get the kids the T-shirts they want. Submitted by: M K west

  • If youre staying at the the Contemp for an extended amount of time (3 weeks for me in Dec 2002 yahoooo) We spend a day or two at the Contemp....there's shopping, the pools....AND the laundry room....while our clothes are in the dryer, we take our lunches out on one of the float boats, cruise around Bay Lake and 7 Seas Lagoon....by the time we get back to the Contemp, our clothes are dry! I've never once complained about "having to the laundry" Disney style! Submitted by: Kel

  • If you need a relaxing break in the middle of a hectic day in the Magic Kingdom, the TTA (Tomorrowland Transit Authority) is a great way to relax. It is a calm, and intersting ride that you can either watch everything go by, or catch a few minutes of shut-eye on. It's actually quite fun though, if you listen to the narration and pay attention. Submitted by: Mike Tartaglia

  • Now, this is very hard to do, but if you can get it right, and the parks are open at the right time, it can be done; I've pulled it off before. Go see Fantasmic at 8:30 in MGM - Studios, and leave right as the final boat (with all the fireworks) comes out; this will help you kill of any line you may encounter. Take the first bus you find to the TTC or Epcot, and you can catch Illuminations, when it starts at 9:30 instead of 9. Finally, Get whatever you can back to the Magic Kingdom, be it monorail or bus, and you can watch the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks show. Now, I know this is tough, but it can be done, and afterwards you can head back to your hotel in peace, knowing that you just watched three of the best shows you'll ever see in your life. Submitted by: Mike Tartaglia

  • While eating dinner at Narcoossee's in the Grand Floridian hotel, you can get a spectacular view of the light show that performs on Bay Lake by simply looking out the window. For an even better view, they have a small deck you can view the show from. Submitted by: Mike Tartaglia

  • Join the WDW Vacation Club. You can stay at better resorts. Submitted by: Jaclyn

  • If you are watching the fireworks at Magic Kingdom and there is not a good seat in front of the castle go behind it and the fire works are just as good but you don't have the castle in front of them. Submitted by: Chelsea

  • I suggest you take one whole day for just sightseeing and relaxation. Take a walk around some of the resorts or visit on of the parks and just enjoy the sights. Get a good nights rest and you'll be ready for the second half of your trip! Submitted by: Dwight

  • For the Magic Kingdom fireworks DO NOT stand right in front of the castle. You will not see the fireworks. Stand further back and to the right by the umbrella's. It will not be over the castle but you will see it good. Submitted by: Michael Patalano

  • The BEST time to plan a trip to Walt Disney World is in September during the work week. My family went to Walt Disney World in September and it was great! The longest wait(s) for us was 20 min. on Dumbo and Splash Mountain. On the weekend the waits increased a little more, but not much. Also, two out of the three water parks were open, which was very convenient. Submitted by Emily F.

  • If you are just going to the Magic Kingdom and you park at the transportation and ticket center first thing in the morning, we all know the line for the express monorail is way to long, so take the resort monorail. It only stops at the Poly and the Grand Floridian. its faster than waiting in the line and you actually have a chance to get a seat for you and your family.Submitted by Tyler

  • Someone once recommended taking a midday break and I thought they were crazy. Well once I actually went to WDW I totally agree. Take a break. We would go back into the parks in the late afternoon totally refreshed and have a great time. The days we did'nt take a break our kids were just to shot to have as much fun or fully experience everything around them. Submitted by Unknown Person

  • Want to do something fun and free. Go the Tri-Circle D Ranch at FW and see the horse stables where Cinderella's ponies are kept. You can also see the Percherons that pull the WDW Caliope (average weight of each horse 1600 lbs.) You can also visit the petting zoo and possibly watch horses being shoed. Submitted By Jim Miller

  • Don't worry about wearing the most fashionable shoes.....get out your most comfy pair of old sneakers and wear 'em w/ pride. Submitted by Samantha

  • As a "Disney Store" Castmember, I am constantly asked about tips for "first timers". One of my favorite tips is to tell guests ( especially those not staying on resort prpoerty) to park their cars at the park where they are ENDING their day. They will be much less tired and stressed if their car is right there at the end of a long day. Submitted by Marie

  • Instead of staying in the Magic Kingdom and fighting the crowds after the fireworks, see them from the California Grill Lounge on the 15th floor of the Contemporary Hotel. Try to get there half and hour early to get a table by the windows, then enjoy the show. You dont have to order a cocktail if you don't want, and even if you are traveling with children they are welcome too. Submitted by Sherry Anne Smith

  • Before the nightly parade at Magic Kingdom head into Toon Town to visit Mickey the lines aren't as long. Then take the train over to the entrance so when the parade is over you're first online for the monorail and do not have to sit through the crowds. Submitted by Dineen

  • Spend some time at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. You can rent bikes, boats, golf carts and have a ball. There is so much to do for the whole family, you really could make a "day" out of it. Horseback rides, hay rides, the Chip n Dale campfire program, Hoop-de-doo (its expensive, but it is SUCH a hoot!!). My tip tho isn't just to say "spend a day" it is this...as you walk towards the docks (as if to take the boat to the Magic Kingdom) keep your eyes peeled for the "lawnmower tree" (it'll be to your left between where golf carts re charge and the dock). Its an old fashioned push mower that a tree grew *around/through*. It is just unusual...nothing special - it doesn't talk or dance or anything. It just sits there, with a cute little poem. And when you get to the dock, try to have planned it just right, and you will have the MOST excellent view of the water parade as it glides by. So there you have it--three tips in one! šoš Have a Mickey day!! Submitted by Tammi

  • It is very possible to go to all 4 parks in one day! I've been there 20 times and I have done this the past 5 times; its a great thing to do if you have an extra day and want to revisit some rides. Start off at Animal Kingdom- the lines are shorter there in the morning and you can be out of there by noon. Try Rainforest Cafe for lunch and then head over to Epcot. Go to wherever you want while everyone is eating lunch. Around 5 or 6, hit up MGM. Grab some fast passes for either Tower of Terror or Rockin Roller Coaster and wait on the line for the one you don\'t get fast passes for. After riding both, head over to the Magic Kingdom. Grab dinner, and stay late. The lines are almost never long at night because it tends to be a park dominated by little kids. If you are staying in a resort, trying getting e-passes so you can stay even later. Check out the fire works too! HAVE FUN! Submitted by Erica
