Just what are Hidden Mickey's?

Hidden Mickeys started out as inside jokes among the Walt Disney Imagineers (the Cast Members behind the Magic).

The most common Hidden Mickey is a formation of three circles that may be perceived as the silhouette of the head and ears of Mickey Mouse, often referred to by Disney aficionados as a "classic Mickey."

Hidden Mickeys are found in various Disney media, such as animated films, feature length movies, TV series, or the Disney theme parks.

Disney's Hidden Mickey's were created by the Disney Imagineers as a kind of unofficial signature. A symbol of Mickey Mouse that they could show their friends and relatives that they had placed their own mark on a ride or attraction. It remained a Disney insider secret for some time. However, the Hidden Mickey secret was out following the publication of an article which appeared in 1989 which was written for the Disney World Cast Member weekly publication, Eyes and Ears.
